The NFL schedules have dropped and the New England Patriots are back to being primetime darlings.
It's been awhile since New England was the focus of the NFL. Patriots fans have gotten used to the 1pm Sunday slot in recent seasons, but after last year's Super Bowl run, the reigning AFC Champions are back in primetime. Let's take a look at some of the biggest games.
Week 1
Seattle Seahawks
Wednesday, Sept 9 @8:20 PM
A Super Bowl rematch to kick off the 2026 season will test a Patriots team that added depth in Free Agency and addressed weaknesses through the draft. They'll be facing a Seahawks team that lost Kenneth Walker III to Kansas City, who was the Super Bowl MVP. New England will be looking to start their season on the right foot and play spoiler to the Seahawks banner night.
Week 7
Chicago Bears
Thursday, October 22nd @ 8:15 PM
Thursday night football against Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson in Chicago. The Bears got to the NFC Divisional Round and lost in OT to the Los Angeles Rams. Maye vs. Williams will be all the hype leading up to this one, and rightfully so. Williams had a great second season under head coach Ben Johnson, as did Maye under Vrabel.
Week 8
Miami Dolphins
Sunday, November 1st @ 4:25 PM
Divisional games are always tense, and New England vs. Miami is as unpredictable as it gets. Jeff Hafley, former defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, is now head coach of a Miami team with Malik Willis as their (assumed) starter.
Week 9
Green Bay Packers
Sunday, November 8th @ 4:25 PM
This matchup is sure to be a great one. Green Bay lost receiver Romeo Doubs to New England in free agency and is looking to make another leap forward with quarterback Jordan Love at the controls.
Week 10
Detroit Lions
Sunday, November 15th @ 9:30 AM
MUNICH, GERMANY
We're putting this as 'primetime' because it's international, but 9:30AM on the east coast (hello 6:30AM in California!) is hardly primetime. New England got away with no international games last season, but in 2026 they're headed to Munich, Germany to face off against the Detroit Lions, a team that's looking to right the ship after recent injury riddled seasons.
Week 12
Los Angeles Chargers
Sunday, November 29th @ 8:20 PM
In a rematch of the wildcard round, we'll see Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert face off against that New England Patriots defensive front yet again. Herbert was sacked 6 (!!) times in the wildcard round. If Chargers left tackle Joe Alt is healthy, he changes that entire offensive line.
Week 13
Buffalo Bills
Sunday, December 6th @ 4:25 PM
Another divisional matchup for New England in the primetime window. Buffalo will be coming in with their sights set on the AFC East crown, and who knows what the standings will even be at that point. It's a Josh Allen vs. Drake Maye matchup for the nation to see, so buckle up.

Week 14
Minnesota Vikings
Thursday, December 10th @ 8:15 PM
Two Thursday night games for New England this season, this one against Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings, who are still trying to figure out who QB1 will be for them (unless McCarthy shows some real improvement).
Week 15
Kansas City Chiefs
Monday, December 21st @ 8:15 PM
Monday Night Football against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes will be back in action by this time in the season after suffering a torn ACL in the 2025 season. Arrowhead is a difficult place to play, especially in the winter months. It will be a great test for this Patriots squad.
There is one more potential prime time game left, but the time and date are TBD. It's a game during week 16 vs. the Denver Broncos in what would be a rematch of the AFC Championship game where New England punched their ticket to the Super Bowl. We'll keep an eye on what the NFL decided to do with this one.
A very different schedule for New England this year that brings fun challenges and some late nights. With a revamped squad that's motivated from that Super Bowl loss, we'll see how far they can go.
